IN VIEW OF TYPHOON KAREN, THE SCHOOLS DIVISION OFFICE WOULD LIKE TO CALL ON EVERY DEPED PERSONNEL (TEACHING & NON-TEACHING) AS WELL AS STAKEHOLDERS TO TAKE THE NECESSARY PRECAUTIONS. ALL SCHOOL HEADS AND DRR COORDINATORS ARE ALERTED AND BE READY FOR NEWS & SCHOOL SITUATION UPDATES. Please make the necessary precautions, ensuring all equipments, learning materials and facilities are safely stored. Be prepared. Make sure enough food supplies at home. Charge all your devices which will be useful in times of emergency. Prepare Food, water and medicines. Inform your household on the upcoming typhoon and plan ahead. Be alert. Be updated. DEPED DRRMS (CENTRAL OFFICE) ADVISORY :
All RDs, SDSs and SCHOOL HEADS are reminded to work with their respective sch. communities and ensure that computers and other electrical equipment are unplugged and textbooks, sch. records, furniture, and other important materials are moved to safe areas. Additionally, the following measures should also be undertaken as appropriate with the help of the local community or LGU: secure roof beams with wires or heavy duty ropes, board up jalousies and windows with plywood or other secure material, prune trees especially those adjacent to buildings and along electrical posts and secure all ongoing construction projects including supplies and materials. For sch. that may be designated by LGUs as EC sch. heads should immediately contact their respective Division Offices via text message and identify the DepEd sch. coordinator and contact details.
All DRRM Focal Persons are advised to stay alert and to monitor the effects of the LPA. Everyone should observe necessary class suspensions based on LGU announcements and EO No. 66, s. 2012.
